I've recently returned from a three-week trip to Hawaii, mixing family time with a fair amount of photography. Here are some images from a late afternoon/ evening hike on the Sliding Sands trail at the top of the Haleakala volcano.
Wow that is fantastic. Man I hardly wish I could bicycle around there and take those bicycle road trails.
So there's no chance of eruption or breathing in sulfur dioxide ? :P
Don't think cycling is allowed there - haven't seen anyone.
Re eruption: they say it will erupt again someday, but I guess they have a pretty good system for figuring out when it could get closer (and it may be hundreds of years hence). As for sulphur, Kawah Ijen in Indonesia is your place...you can breathe it even through a gas mask!
