I so wanted that deer to do what you were thinking, how unique would that have been I think it was the first time it ever saw a hydrant, it was certainly curious of it, I was 15ft away or less, thought it was going to come right up and sniff me too!

What do you think of Lotus? Is it a desirable in Ohio? Last time I saw that was in a Georgia pond. We do not have it in Maine. I liked it enough that I took a seed pod home.
That "sea of green" is Duckweed (Lemna minor)
I think my favorite is the fawn next to the hydrant but I love those Lotus shots. I think the plant is a spectacle.

Hello Robert nice to hear from you sir! The lotus ramps up strong in my area and goes through quite a spectacle as the Autumn approaches and puts it into a glorious golden color. Then there is a plethora of the seeds heads standing bare, makes me laugh they look sprinkler heads for a shower! Those seed pods are full of those big seeds, tons of them wash up along the shore. If you need more let me know ........ I know a place
