Lillith from Cheers an so many other great characters over the years. Broadway singer and dancer and still causing hearts to flutter and one certain atheist friend on FB to declare that there just might be a god after all, here's Bebe Neuwirth. As with the Billy Bartee shot, these were taken with a Nikon 105mm 2.5 on TMax 100.
That was a fun night with Gary Owens, Mickey Rooney, Charlene Tilton and more, all backstage at the Wilshire-Ebell Theater in Los Angeles. Florence Henderson too.
Thanks Tom. I'm just amazed that I found these after 34 years. Trying to figure out just what this event was, and trying to identify another actress I had photographed that night, I went to Bebe's IDMB page and looked at the list of everything where she appeared as herself and found this comedy show listed from 1988 and that the unidentified actress was indeed the very recognizable Faith Ford.
Peter these are beautiful shots, and you have to love that B&W film look. Sure doesn't hurt with the model you have. Your shots surely evoke a different feel that her Cheers persona.

Thanks Dave. You're right about that film look here, but to be honest, it's not really that hard to get the same look out of digital, and it takes quite a bit of massaging once I pull the scan off the drum scanner, as I like to scan them flat with no clipping then decide later if it makes sense to clip at that time.
Yeah, her Cheers persona was pretty much the opposite of this, but look at her IMDB. She's had a very long and varied career, and on Broadway as well.
Hmmm ...... Peter your lighting is your trademark sir. Such easy images to enjoy here, nothing is distracting and most certainly the subjects eyes communicate nicely. Love the feel in the presentation of both, interesting how the second one smiles without smiling it that makes sense

Thanks Karl. I think she was being flirtatious with overtly flirting. I only wish I had been aware of it at the time. And I think you're right, I try to let the subject speak for themselves. My tonal tastes today are more dramatic than when I shot these, but thanks to drum scanners and Photoshop, I can usually get them to where I want them to be today. Let's just say that accurate hi-res masking is far more difficult in black and white than in color.
I see "Lilith" in a whole new light Peter!
When I saw her acting in "Blue Bloods" she showed a different persona than "Cheers & Frazier"
These are superb and extremely well composed!!!!

Peter, I don't know one actress from another but I do know an image that speaks in volumes to me. The light and pose in the first is exceptional, it's classy and in it's own way silently sexy if that makes sense?
The second is captivating! That just sits there looking pretty, not forced all natural and I love it!
I could ramble on but these are special and compliment both the photographer and the model.
