I guess long term review could put more light on this one, true.
Another thing I wanted to ask - is there anyone who has that adapter, also has A7C?
I used 7artisans adapter for manual lens and found that it makes a lens - grip gap a bit smaller due to its release button. Its very uncomfortable to use it. I wonder how much gap that EA9 leaves.
Could someone who has both please let us know how it feels when holding? Do you have enough space for your fingers?
I have smallish hands. And my fingers wrapping around the camera grip still don't touch the adapter. If you have larger hands or longer fingers or even wider fingers, you will probably have to rest your middle finger above the adapter. If I put my finger between the adapter and the grip, it is slightly squeezed (I would not use this adapter if my finger were squeezed like this for more than 30 seconds).

Thanks. Yeah, it sounds like it needs grip adjustments when you purchase it for a7C.
I have a big larger fingers and I think I would have to squeeze them in a bit, so not really comfortable.
If it was straight along with body's orange ring on mount, it would be fine, but it looks like it sticks out 2-3mm which on a7c is a bit tight. Other A7 cameras will be fine.

Has anyone tried it with the C/Y adapter and contax lenses?
i dont have the newest version the have used CY/Contax lenses on the techart adapters before with no issues. Works nicely. You would just need a CY to M adapter

I can't seem to get this to work. I am still in the return period of this adapter.
When I go to f45, then take a photo or 2 photos or 3 photos (I am trying to make this work), and then go back to f2, and then toggle autofocus off on my a7c, no matter what the adapter moves back to its original position. I can not get the adapter to stay parked as the manual states in its focus position no matter what I do. The parking position no matter what causes the adapter to retract. Am I missing something?
The Techart PRO has a Parking feature which determines what the adapter does when switching from AF to MF mode:
F45 parks the adapter at the current focus: Parking position when the camera is off – infinity/unchanged (factory pre-set as unchanged)
To implement this, set the aperture on the camera to the desired value, take a picture, then set the aperture on the camera back to F2. (Note that the camera must be set to change aperture in 1/3 stop increments for all of these options to be accessible.)

Yes and it works fine.
There’s nothing about any particular lens line that affects whether Techart will work, I think provided
(1) the lens is light enough
(2) an adapter from that lens line to Leica M that fits is available.
There are particular lenses that don’t do as well. I don’t think we have a definitive explanation as to what that is. Leading hypotheses seem to be that extreme principal ray angle is an issue, or that lateral chromatic aberration affects focus. But there seem to be counterexamples to both of these.
I have a vague impression that on average lighter SLR lenses do better than rangefinder lenses, especially in the normal to wide range (if I’m right this is support for the ray angle hypothesis)
Leica R to Leica M adapter for use with Techart adapter?
I've tried Leica's own R to M adapter and it doesn't fit. Does anyone have an R adapter that does fit the Techart?

Whats the verdict on this after some months? Is the AF reliable enough? Need to update firmware to latest?
The adapter is not speedy, but it is reliable with caveats. From my experience, AF is quite accurate within the central part of the frame. I wish the tracking would extend a bit further for framing, since I'll put a person at 1/3 frame and just a bit of movement outside of that it will start to lose the eye. There are a couple of lenses reported to work all the way to the edges (I've only personally tested the 90/4):
AF doesn't seem to work in video mode though; need to use MF.
I'm on FW 1.6, but Bastian I think recommends 1.4 is fine. One difference I know of is that when switching to MF, on 1.4 the adapter will stay extended (useful for close-ups), whereas on 1.6 the adapter will move back to infinity position.
Anyone have recent sample shots with an A7R5 and the Leica Summilux 35mm FLE 2022 version, or the Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f2 V2? Considering trying this adapter and curious how those lenses perform, as well as the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f1.
Upgraded recently from EA7 to EA9 on my A7C. Definitely like the shape of it more. For my hand, have no issues with the space for the fingers. Focusing seems faster but maybe cause its much quieter? . Took out couple old lens to take few shots. Only subject around is my cute lil guy

Nice images and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the adapter and its performance. I'm considering one for my A7C as well.
I thought I read the adapter is not compatible with ltm lens with infinity lock, which the canon 50mm 1.4 ltm has. You use that lens. Any issue at all?

50mm 1.4 LTM is slim enough to work and has a different type of infinity lock, 50mm 1.2 doesn't.
