Nicci is a boudoir photographer. I am grateful to her for the privilege of making these very personal portraits. As always C&C is deeply appreciated. Derek
Nicci knows how to pose and loves the camera. All are close-ups; and full-length? My experience* is that the upper body is "led" by the entire body, so I'm curious how she poses head-to-toe.
* at a multiple-photographer shoot, I watched as one subject twisted their body from the waist up. The final waist-up shots looked awkward. But at least I now had the BTS in my head to prevent that twist in my own work.

You are so right that posing head-to-toe can lead to better head and shoulder images. Unfortunately for this forum, I cannot display any full length images. Nicci was in lingerie or naked the entire session. She was naked in images 1 and 5 here, maybe nudity leads to better expressions, also.
Derek, I have my personal preferences in viewing this beautiful classy woman. Minimal make up...just beautiful natural beauty!
I am terrible at this type of photography. Never could get it right and color seemed all I thought about.
But black and white emphasizes lines thus showing character at a deeper level that a color image can't do!
Especially with a natural beauty! There are so many editing techniques, lens focus that can just add to the frame! In #2, there seems to be an unintentional artifact that sort of outlines the right side(our left) of her nose as we pass into a softer focus. Just a mention. Not distracting.
Very well done IMHO!!

Thank you Dan. Your old eyes work better than my old eyes, I didn’t see it until you mentioned it. Thank you. It’s always amazing the things that you can miss in your own images.

Excellent series, Derek. The second one is just stunning and my favorite. Nice control of light, contrast and tones throughout.
Cheers,
Brent
Thank you Brent. The second image is my favorite as well, by far.
