I have for sale another beautiful Leitz, Leicaflex SL2 Silver Chrome kit in the original box (with matching serial number) with the owner's manual and strap in 97.5% or near mint++ condition with a complete DAG CLA. This is the closest thing to a new Leitz, Leicaflex SL2 that you'll find out there. Good for a lifetime of film fun!
In addition, the kit will include a 98.5% MINT Leica 50mm F2 Summicron R ser: 3082xxxx with caps, with a full DAG CLA. The lens looks and operates 'as-new'
And finally, a new Luigi-Leicatime black Italian Leather case and strap (new and unused)
Oh, I almost forgot - a new B+W 55mm UV and new, front and rear caps (as spares)
and approx. $200.00 worth of Ilford B+W and Kodak film (unexpired and kept in the freezer)
Details on camera:
This camera was from an older gentleman who owned several Leica M cameras and loved Leica's so much, he bought a new SL2. Unfortunately, the camera was a bit too heavy for him, so it sat in the box - virtually unused with the batteries removed for 35-40 years!
Everything works as it should, shutter speeds, meter, (the meter has been adjusted to use off-the-shelf PX625 Alkaline batteries) self-timer adjusted, the viewfinder is bright and clear with no discoloration, viewfinder illuminator, battery check etc. all working per factory specs.
Other than a small mark on the nameplate (minor) and ‘maybe’ a touch mark or two, the camera is near mint++ or 97.5% DAG even commented that the camera showed no usage and that “the camera looked new”
In the two years that they were made, there are a lot more black bodies than silver chrome, which doesn’t necessarily make these rare, but they are certainly harder to come by, especially in this condition. I read that Leica basically lost money on every Leicaflex SL2 that they made (they were made to an extremely-high standard) in hopes that they would sell some lenses.
The CLA on the camera and lens alone cost me over $600.00, and they were done last week.
