I posted a few of these images along with others all in color a few days ago. The post sparked a wonderful conversation about color and light, and all that is photography. I learned much from that conversation, but I learned something deeper about myself—I had failed to present my work as I envisioned it, I did not show my extraordinary subject Nicole as I saw her and wanted to present her in my work—my art.
I allowed myself to be steered by what I imagined others would want to see, and then presented a vision of Nicole which wasn’t my own. So here now is what should have been my post in the first place, excluding a few of the other images, and including a few new ones, all in B&W. And thank you to everyone who participated in the illuminating discussion regarding the previous post. As always C&C is greatly appreciated. Derek
