I recently bought a Sony A6000 as a second body to my Sony E mount A7R3. All the lenses I have are adapted to the Sony E mount and they go on the A6000 with the same adapter. However one adapter I have is the Fotasy Nikon G to NEX mount adapter. This one takes my Nikon G mount lens and mounts it without a problem on the A6000. However, it does not want to go on the A7R3 body. Is the NEX mount "one way" compatible with the E mount -- in that it takes the E mount also but the E mount does not take the NEX mount glass?
Apologies if this was obvious to all except me on this forum.
Push/twist harder. A7 II, A6300 and newer have reinforced mounts. A6000 is just mounted to plastic, so it flexes a lot, giving little resistance to mounting lenses/adapters.
I don't think I explained the problem very well. The adapter does not go in the body. You know when you align the dots, insert, then twist? It does what happens when you don't align the dots. The adapter doesn't go in. Same adapter, aligns correctly at the dot on the A6000 and goes in without a problem.
I have stared at the adapter grooves side by side with the Signa MC 11 adapter and they seem similar.
Whatever the problem is, it's the adapter.
NEX, E, and FE mounts are all the same thing.

Thanks. Yes I don't want to damage the expensive camera with a cheap adapter. That is why I am not using any force. But the adapter goes in the A6000 without any resistance. And it looks the same as any other. Quite puzzling!
