p.1 #1 · Linda, Six Different Shoots

A short history. Linda and I met maybe 5 years ago and have since shot maybe 10 times so we have quite a repertoire of shots. She is African and maybe 8 years ago was Miss Malawi which is how she got to the States. The last time we shot was about six months ago and it was a maternity shoot with her first child. C&C welcome

What a shapely, curvacious woman John..and BEAUTIFUL!!!!
She could be a Tina Turner double in #5.
1&2 are super but all are so very well done John!
Thanks for bringing some smiles on an Saturday morning!

Nice set with a few negatives...
1. I can't keep from looking at the dark left elbow. Her left knee skin need smoothing. Not enough headroom, feels cramped.
2. Playful. Awkward leg placement, causing foreshortening. Better to have composed diagonally so she could stretch out? Amazing smile well-captured.
3. I love the vivid colors and her beautiful skin.
4. Saucy. Great outfit.
5. I like the lighting, good control of the dress's bright color.
6. Lighting is great, as is the smile.

Dan, thanks so much for the comments.
You're right, I had never pegged her for a TT look-alike but that sure does come out in #5. Maybe a future shoot to recreate some famous TT scene. They definitely both share the legs!!
The smiles are always free!
Thanks Dan....

The images and certainly the model are top notch. I have to agree with GoodEgg on the first image. It almost appears that some photoshop work was done and there was a carry-over to her elbow. It doesn’t appear to be a shadow but a blotch. The same applies to her let knee. That is not a natural appearance there. All the other images are quite beautiful.

GoodE, thanks so much for the detailed C&C! Good stuff.
In #1, don't know about the elbow without checking the original. From the high angle of the sun could have been a pretty dark shadow.
I definitely probably have lots of headroom. For a while now I've been using 4:5, 5:4 to crop most images since they'll likely wind up on IG and that's the IG format. To go more headroom means to go wider as well, adding unneeded negative space, either that or free-crop. That's the reason for the tight crop here. The knee is just my inability to PP, I suck at it!! LoL
#2 probably has all the lesser of the evils of the various attempts at a purely top-down shot.
#5, Fortunately as we know that in studio we have total control of the light.
In #6 I thought after posting that might have been better to stop down the f-stop a bit so as to get the wheat sprigs in her arm in better focus. I think I shot that with my 200 1.8 wide open which has a razor thin DoF!
Thanks for taking the time to point out some great details. For sure my PP needs to improve!!
Great suggestions.
John
