This past weekend was spent in a field (with hungry bugs) photographing the WRGRC WC/WCX field trials. That is where retrievers do what they are supposed to do....retrieve. In this case, ducks on land as well as water.
As you can see, the cover in the field was knee deep in most places and almost waist deep in others. I mention this because it plays havoc on the focusing function of any camera. There were quite a few of the photos (some of them quite good too 🤬 ) that had to be trashed due to missed focus.
To add to that issue, I also had an intermittent exposure malfunction that I was unaware of until I got home on Saturday and downloaded the first batch if images (about 750). I can fix the exposure issue but I can't bring back focus.
Anyway...here are a few photos of Surfer and his handler at the event. He really was NOT AT ALL interested in picking up that stupid duck but had a wonderful time bouncing aimlessly around the field on a hot, humid, sunny afternoon. 🤷♂️ And....he refused to even get in the water so there are no photos of that.
