Handheld. At that speed, I usually take a silent burst of shots. Many will be unsharp due to subject movement, but there will most always be some that are tack sharp. It is impressive stabilization from this combo that counters movement from myself.

Probably sharp enough to crop more and still post horizontal.
It was always a major hassle for me to try and clone off all the suet that piggy Steller's Jays would have on their beaks.
Just came back from central florida and I fell in love with the 100-500 again. It performed marvelously in every setting while the big whites stayed in the bag. On the R7, I had a lightweight combination with 160-800 EFL which was perfect on the beach, hiking, and in the swamps. I'm just beginning to wade through the thousands of photos...

A downy woodpecker and a carolina wren, the wren is a 100% crop of a shot at 700mm, 1/20 SS, with the 1.4 extender.
I was having issues with inconsistent results after the latest R6 firmware. Thankfully all issues were resolved after a reset, and after the fact I realized that shooting outside (40 degrees) subjects from inside the house (75 degrees) was causing softness in my pics.
