I grew up in Florida but haven't lived there in several decades. I've not even visited since I began doing nature photography. I scratched that itch three weeks ago and will share some of the fun I had.
I saw spoonbills in several locations but my favorite was a pond that was full of a blur of White Ibis, Great and Snowy Egrets, and American White Pelicans.

Gorgeous set Bruce. I wish I knew that I needed to put on sun glasses for the first image. Enjoyed all of these.

What a great set, Bruce! Such a pleasure to see these sunny images of exotic birds after our dreary winter up here in Ontario...

I appreciate that you all took the time to look and comment. It was nice for me to leave the tail end of winter in upstate NY to rediscover that FL sun.
Bruce
Very nice sampling of what Florida offers Bruce. Some lovely colors and subjects you encountered. Whimbrel and Reddish are wonderful and a nice job on exposure and presentation on the Roseate Spoonbill amongst the blur of whites!

Great set Bruce. At this time of year Florida can't be beat for the diversity of birds to shoot. I like your first shot of the spoonbill, very nice.
Dave
Thank you Dave. At this point, I keep thinking about the species that I missed, but I did see quite a lot.
Bruce
Really nice work, Bruce. We see so many photos of these species but you've done a good job of capturing them a little different than typical. Nicely done.

It is inevitable to take common photos of those much photographed species when shooting them for the first time, so I'm glad that you saw some unique things in my images.
