I recently set up several test shoots like this one with the hopes of motivating myself to start shooting more, and so far I feel like things are going so much better than expected. I honestly don't think I've felt this motivated or optimistic in a very long time. It's like waking up from a two year long hibernation.
Anyways, here are a few shots from my recent test shoot with Xavier at the nature park near my house.
Lit using natural light and a reflector. Photographed using an original Canon 5D with a Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens.
That 5D took some of the best compositions I have ever shot Daniel!
Do you shoot models for publications?
I ask that only because your work is so well done! It seems that getting your work out in front for periodicals/editors to see could put some more "scratch" in your shooting itch!
Again well done!

Thanks Dan. I used to submit to publications and have been published in print publication several times including The Wall Street Journal, but it hasn't been a focus of mine for a few years now. I have a feeling that the trajectory of my work is going to start taking me back in that direction again soon though.
Your images are always so clean. I really like the wide landscape compositions. Another of your many skills—the ability to successfully bend, or even break, the “rules.”
