Yesterday, Sky candy app prediction showed a great sunset at Newport beach. Hence, drove down to Corona beach for trying out some sunset photos and catching some water movement. Didn't get the composition I wanted as there were already 3 other photographers at that spot. The sunset was very nice and the setting sunlight on the rock formations was really nice. Here are few images from yesterdays outing.
Great set @keepclicking! I think you did very well despite not getting your favored spot where others already were. I like them all but #3 especially, love the jagged rocks and the sky.
Really beautiful work. #3 is superb with great light and colour and lines and motion. #1 I'd crop that house on the left out just because. Beautiful light on the rock in that one.

Thanks Ross, this location has lots of possibilities but its always hard when there are people around you are enjoying the beach outing.

All three are great but really like #3 with Catalina in background.
Thank you, on #3 i really wanted all the rocks to be in the images but due to someone doing portrait session it was not possible. Hence, I went a little closer and missed out on the formation on the right side of the image.

Thanks for sharing. Love 1 & 3 the most. Makes me miss the OC beaches! Nice work.
Thank you, on #1 i really wanted to capture the water motion with the light. I have shot here before but this is the first time from this location and it turned out to be nice.

The lighting is quite nice on these. Well worth the effort!
You are absolutely correct, the light is quite special. It was totally worth it driving down there! Thank you
Ahhhhhhhhh My favorite beach.... Of all the things that truly miss the most from back home is that spot... It's the beach we always took the kids to. Great captures, especially #3
That first one with the last glow of sunset is a winner. Nice timing and work.
You had great clouds and I think your shutter speed to be just right with the motion in the water. (not too much and not too little).
Yes, the last light on the rock formations was special. Thanks Mike

On number 3 I really wanted all the rocks in the image, but there were photographers doing portrait sessions so I had to move a bit closer. Its a great beach with very little crowds.

That's pretty cool. I was there too, but at ladder rock further south.
Thanks Ryan, I have never made it to ladder rock but have seen your amazing capture of that. Hopefully, one day will be able to get down there.

Thanks Gordon, you are correct about the last glow of light and I was happy with the water motion. It's always a guessing game on that. Thank you.
Nice images. I used to shoot in a similar area in south bay, and I know how challenging it is getting the right composition especially with an ultrawide angle, and you have done well.
1. perfect shutter speed. good composition. good complimentary colors, good balance of exposure in foreground and background, with judicious lifting of shadows without making it look fake. I wish the far left building/tree shore was not there.
2. Nice except for the big rock on the left foreground. the image is about the leading lines, and I find it a bit distracting
3. I am going to break with all the other commentators on the 3rd one. I think it has the nicest sky by the weakest composition for me.
