Very nice set Gregg. So did you go up the backside of the mountain through the Lavender farm? Wife made me turn around about 3/4 of the way up. She was not liking the narrow road and when we hit the fog, game over.
EDIT: I realized my tired brain replied in a way that likely made no sense to anyone who knows the area. I’m referring to Haleakalā on Maui. Kind of hard to do that from the big island - doh!
Hope you had a chance to also get up to the Observatory Visitor Center. That place is a bit magical.
Wonderful images, and super hard to pick a favorite. 3rd, 5th and last stand out to me, but not a bad one in the bunch

Thanks Michael. No, I have not visited Observatory Visitor Center. I'd like to but my wife was freaking out because at the check point (before you hit the dirt road) the park ranger scared us how hard it is to drive up there, and even harder going back down on low gears etc. etc. So she was scared but she did just fine. I'm sure I'll go back there again and visit the visitor's center. I wonder if you can get into one of those domes/observatories and look through a telescope. That'd be awesome. I'll research if that's possible. Oh, and yes, I saw the mountain's shadow at sunset.
So you're saying on Maui there's a Lavender field some place on the way up to Haleakalā? Didn't know that. Maybe I'll hit that place in spring when they bloom?
