Hopefully SmallRig produces an L-bracket for the OM-1. I bought their L-bracket for my X-T4, which cost me C$50 versus C$500 landed cost for the RRS version.
Kirk Pz-17 fits the OM1 nicely, but you have to shave off an 1/8th of an inch off the left side to allow the battery door to open. I happened to have one lying around so pleased to find it worked nicely in the end.

RRS announced on Instagram that preorders for the OM-1 L-Bracket is coming soon. There is no mention if they will be offering a base plate on its own.
Thanks for passing this on. I don't do Instagram or facebook so I would not know their plans and miss their marketing strategy. thus not being able to order.
Monday I'll send a email asking about a base plate only.
It's not an L-Bracket or a baseplate, but Smallrig is offering a Camera Cage for the OM -1 (OM-1 3948)
for $99.00 that includes an Arca-Swiss compatible base.
For one thing, add a few Smallrig parts and mount your camera right-side-up when you invert a center column for shooting close to the ground. Nothing worse than trying macros with the camera upside down--especially with the OM-1 with small buttons close together.
I don't have super sized hands but I find my little finger floating so I'd be interested in a base plate at the right price, purely to extend the height of the grip. I wish the body design was half an inch taller, then we wouldn't need all this messing around.
I like the design. It looks like the lcd screen has much more movement space than other camera fully articulated screen L-Bracket combos. I am looking forward to getting mine.
Since I have NO need for an L bracket I happen to have their "Universal" bracket which interestingly enough looks identical to the bottom portion of the bracket minus the area that extends over the battery cover area. If I ever decide to use a bracket that will work perfectly for me. Now I typically leave the grip on it however.

Forgive my ignorance but why does one need a bracket like this as opposed to a bottom mount bracket?
It may be helpful for macro shooting close to the ground. Reversing the center column normally puts the camera upside down making button access awkward. That's my experience with OM-Ds. Last year I made my own platform from a few Smallrig parts but this bracket is more elegant.
