I received the same email this morning from Camille. Fingers crossed they fab one.
I contacted them as well, and got the same response.
It would probably be a good idea for everyone who wants an RRS plate for this camera to contact them and let them know there *is* a substantial demand for the product.

Thanks Molson. I sent a email just now with what Whumber had posted including my past correspondence's with them in the body.
Thank you for that information! I will give it to our marketing and engineers!
We are currently tracking customer demand right now and it's likely that we will make one but right now it's a little too early to confirm. Just because our product development team hasn't finalized their plans concerning this camera yet.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
Has anyone used the Arca-Swiss Bracket (there is a mini and a "normal" size) with the Olympus? While these are not camera specific, they certainly look like they are made to get the job done, with a price to match!
You can easily use a generic plate. A/S, RRS and Kirk etc make them. For m43, which are smaller, lighter systems, they are much less likely to slip than when used on a heavy FF system.
They are more of a cheap aluminum material. But 2 for $12.99 why not. Bough two packs. Like the rubber that it grips the bottom of the camera and helps keeps the plate from rotating.
You can see the images below to follow along with story. I measured where the plate would be centered on the bottom of the OM-1. As you can see the tripod hole is offset forward of the center of the body.
Placed the plate centered on the camera and matched where the hole is making sure the battery door would open.
I popped off the screw head wings to tighten the bolt. That allowed the bolt head to fit tightly to the edge of the plate.
Dilled a hole and taped it with a 1/4 -20 to make it captative and not fall out when removed. Go slow with little pressure on the drill bit as the metal is not good. I forced it and some of the back side metal broke off. The next 3 used a metal backing to give it some support.
The plate I tested it on all of our heads and clamps down fine. Happy with it and will serve the need.
I tried the L-bracket from my Mark III on the OM-1 and it "almost" fits. It will go on, and everything clears, but there is a noticeable gap between the bracket and the bottom of the camera. It could work if they don't make another one, but it's not "pretty".
We are trying to get the camera in for testing. It is very likely we will be making a plate, due to customer demand. But with as soon as we do have something to announce it will be announced first on social media and on our emails. So make sure you're subscribed!

They've been giving the same generic response for a couple of months now - it sounds like nothing has changed.
I think I would just get a generic one at this point. The m43 are sufficiently light there is probably no need to have a sculpted plate, and if you are using a larger lens then their foot can be used.

Can you share a picture by chance, I'm wondering how "ugly" this option would be and how much of a gap there is. With the gap, does that mean the plate is more prone to be knocked out of alignment?
So I'm seeing that RRS has a OM-1 camera now and doing the work. I don't like the wording we might do one run and be done, so you need to buy them when they come available.
I hope they contact the people that contacted them, like me back in February. I might be in some off land and not hear about it or can not order some. In February I told them I would like to buy 6 camera plates, I hope they make a bunch...
Might have to give them a call and email as a reminder.
It's too bad the costs are getting so ridiculous for the RRS L-brackets. They have the best fit and finish, but it's certainly not worth the premium price - I looked at ordering an L-bracket for my Fuji X-T4 this morning, and by the time I pay the taxes and shipping, it's 25% of the cost of the camera.
I hope they also offer only the base plate, as I am only interested in extending the grip. The pricing should be closer to the $90 for the E-M1ii base plate.
I may well get around to it but I have to tell you their "universal" one I got from them a long time ago which also happened to fit my ungripped R5 now fits PERFECTLY my OM-1. It's as if it were made for it. Stunning. I'd go that route. No need for something custom as this is virtually like that would be. Now I can so easily mount it on my Arca Swiss Gitzo and it looks like it's a part of the camera not an "add on" This is NOT an L bracket as I don't use those so for me this is perfection

The universal plate won’t provide the additional length to the grip that I would get with the OM-1 base plate. That is the main reason that I would want the base plate.
