This lens equals/exceeds the excellent copy of f/1 Noctilux I was borrowing for a couple months...it's slightly sharper, definitely more contrasty, waaay less geometric distortion, and somewhat smoother out-of-focus. Still, I miss the Noctilux magic...
I have had this lens for about 18 months now and I don't carry it around all the time, but am always rewarded when I do. It's big and heavy on an M body, but capable of some amazing imagery.
I don't currently have the ability to post images here, but have posted some on LUF in the past. Here is an album of some recent images on Flickr: Voigtlander 50 F/1

Thank you Josh. Too bad you can not publish your beautiful pictures on this site directly.
I know. I enjoy the community here and appreciate all of Fred’s excellent reviews.
There have been many instances where I would have liked to post images and contribute to the ongoing discussion. I have been thinking about upgrading my membership at some point. Perhaps soon, as a Christmas present for myself.

If you have a Flickr account you can share images in-thread without needing to upgrade your membership.
Thank you. I have tried that previously and couldn't get it to work, but I think I was on my phone at the time and didn't pursue it.
I think it is a good idea to support Fred's work here and I'm willing to do that in the future. Maybe there is the potential for a lower level membership upgrade that allows posting of images but not selling? That would be an attractive option in my case. I really don't have a pressing need for the capability to sell, but I know that the marketplace here is a good one and I have bought a few items in the past.
Thank you Alan. I had to edit the post a few times, but it did work eventually - it was actually the BBCode function in the Flickr share options that finally worked.
The orange halo flare on this lens is quite distinctive. I don't know if I'm the first to point this out, but it looks very similar to the circle flare you get on the Pentax 67 105mm f/2.4. With a similar FOV and DOF, this lens in its various mounts seems to be a reasonable analogue to the 105mm for full-frame cameras.
