Hey Air, how luck you were!
What a national treasure she was. I never thought in a hundred years that she wouldn't get to a hundred. Now we'll have to do it for her!!! lol
I didn't know of her before the Golden Girls(GG). Funny story, back when the GG was big I had talked to a women about renting a room from her that she had advertised. She had a big house and after her husband had passed away and her daughter had moved out she was Was gonna rent the spare rooms to make some money, in a couple of months. Everything was a go until about a week before it was gonna happen. She had lined up two other women and told me she wanted the other renter to be a woman because she wanted it to be like the GG!!! LoL
RIP B.W.
John
I helped a friend photograph Betty at her house around 2003 or 2004 for 1800-PETMEDS, if memory serves me. A wonderfully warm and gracious woman who welcomed us all in to her home just off of Sunset heading towards the Palisades. The only stipulation was that no backlighting was allowed.
She is an American treasure! Class, beauty, intelligence, humor and most of all ....loves animals!!!!
Great treasured memory Marine!!!!
Well done!

How wonderful she was, and how lucky to have met her! Some people you wish could live forever. Betty was one of those. Bless her, and may she, Alan, and all their critters be together and blissfully happy again. Thanks for sharing.
