Congratulations to Ross Martin for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 7 votes - View Previous Winners
I can’t think of this state without the line from a John Denver song springing to mind, “Almost heaven, West Virginia”. During my six weeks of fall shooting this year I was able to spend some time in WV, and it certainly felt heavenly. There is a lot of exploring to do in this region and it beckons me to go back again and again. I hope this set gives a glimpse of some of the beauty that grabbed my heart there in October. Thank you for viewing!
Excellent collection. Ten years ago, I spent more than a month touring WV in the fall. I thoroughly enjoyed all the waterfalls and fall colors. It is a wonderful place, so thanks for the reminder.
Ross, looks like you had a great fall trip. This set is top notch just like the others. The first image is a standout to me and I like the way u composed it and separation of gray and red makes it my favorite. 👍🏻
Happy Holidays

Really appreciate your kind words! That first scene is one of my favorites.

Superb set. The last image is very special.
Thanks so much Rajan! I had to use 400mm on that last image to isolate. I'm so glad you like it. I need to print it soon, I think it will have a bit of painterly feel on Canson Edition Etching Rag which is a fine art paper I'm in love with.

Superb set! I like your, "Last Show" the best. Those late fall images are a nice break from the usual canopy of solid color.
Thank you! That final image is my personal favorite from this WV trip and I love late season when leaf drop adds so much texture and breaks up the typical solid mass of color as you noted.
