I was sitting with my wife by a pool yesterday and captured this scene. Depending on how you view parenting skills you were either horrified, as my wife was, amused, as I was, or somewhere in between as the gentleman on the left seemed to be. I was totally enthralled by the balancing abilities of this baby while hoping that the Dad had great reflexes, you know, in case things went south quickly. The mother was not only confident in the situation, but of course, was snapping photos with her cell phone, I'm guessing immediately posting to social media because isn't that what all mothers do?
This is not dangerous at all. Every father knows that there is no way that baby could ever hit the ground. Let's hope fathers continue to jostle around with their kids. Cute photo!
I watched the father do this routine with the baby several times, it amazed me that the baby had such great balance. By the way, the baby didn't cry or wiggle around during this performance. I'm confident a good deal ofpractice preceded this, probably over a bed.

Glad you are so confident with someone else's child. To say that this is "not dangerous at all" is a bit myopic. Kid gets startled and squirms away. Hits pool deck or into the water.
Sorry, not gonna take that kinda risk on my child.

Thinking elliot-kramer was writing with a hint of sarcasm...

Elliot was being sarcastic, hence the "every father knows that there is no way that baby could ever hit the ground" line...
Being in the health, safety and accident prevention business for nearly 40 years, in my opinion the action by the man in this photo is reckless. If the baby hit the deck, I would not consider it as an accident because it would be completely preventable. As a photo it's an attention grabber snapshot. I personally would have counseled the person in the photo (not the baby).
