Really fantastic through and through. Thanks for sharing. A great motivation and reminder that we don't need perfect conditions to make wonderful images.

Beautiful set Gregg. I agree that your PP choices on these work very well. I'm marking this location for my next trip
Just bear in mind the road around the dunes is destroyed, and full of very soft sand. You (no one) can't drive it now due to its condition, unless you have a true high clearance 4 x 4 vehicle like Toyota 4-Runner with special (huge) tires. I tried it in my Honda CR-V, which is AWD and I backed out of the road. I drove it in my Honda many times before without any problems, but this time I'd get stuck. Towing a car from that location will cost you thousands of dollars, so don't even try, seriously. My friend got a flat tire (his rim shuttered) on just an access road to the dunes and he had to tow his car all the way to LA. It was over 2000 dollars. But if you get stuck at the dunes area the tow truck may not even be able to get there... something to think about.
So, basically you have only one choice and do what I did, walk around dunes from the western side, and that's at least 2 miles on soft sand each way! My advice is, don't take too much gear (I could get away only with 24-70 and 70-200 lenses), tripod and lots of water. And don't forget a good protective hat

Thanks for the advice Gregg. I do have a lifted 4Runner (but not with gigantic tires) and I live in the desert, so I am not naive and will take your advice seriously. It'll be January until I can try this, but I don't expect driving to change significantly.
