In my just completed Kenya trip I had many opportunities to shoot Lions, these are some of the adult shots as a down payment for now.
For those curious I felt extremely safe from Covid there, almost everyone in the tourism industry is vaxed and all travelers were both vaxed and Covid tested. Masks were everywhere in the airports and public places and staff wore them at the camps.
Gorgeous set Bob. The closeup images are my favorites. Glad everyone is protecting the lions by keeping there distance and waring masks. They can catch COVID-19 and probably transmit it.
Boy this is great set Bob especially 1 &2 with the high iso but they appear great. May favourite 5 & 6 I love the nice low perspective especially the female drinking. These are all at a real close range considering the focal length. Are these all shot from a vehicle. I must admit 5 years ago when I was in Tanzania 95 percent of the stuff was with a 100-400 or a EF 400 F4 DO II, but I don't think we got as close as you shot these especially for so low a perspective .

Thanks Morris, tryst me we weren’t close enough to give the lions Covid!

Thank you Dave, these were all from a vehicle! In some cases we had a lower location, in others I held my camera down the side of the car and used the tilt screen for shooting. Most of these were at Mara North Concession where we were able to off road which helps a lot!
Beautiful set of images! Interesting about holding the camera lower with the tilt screen. I've done that, but never from a vehicle - great idea for future!
See, I knew you would start posting some great images from your recent trip.
getting off the trail in more quiet areas is always a big plus in my book. It allows the driver to get better position using the terrain to get you lower than vehicle height.
