Beautiful capture Steve! have you read up the story behind the steps to the church? During my visit few years back here was restoration work going on so couldn't go inside.

Ha Ha. yes, I value marital bliss as much as the next guy. But if carrying my Wife up those 99 steps is the only way to acheive that then I think I am doomed!
Very nice. I'm a bit surprised you go that much DOF at f9. I assume critical focus was on the church and you took what you could get for sharpness of the foreground leaves?
Beautiful scene and light (diffused overcast light is just perfect for this scene). Do you have a composition of just the scene beyond without the foreground trees framing it?

You know I actually did a focus stack for this shot as well. But when I looked at the images when i got home I decided that I liked the single shot better. It is just soft enough on the foreground leaves not to draw your eye too much.

Nice framing...only nit is the cutoff reflection on the bottom.
Hey Chez,
Actually this is a slight crop. The full image has the whole reflection. the problem is that it puts the Island in the wrong place in the image. I like this compromise better., but could easily do the other way too.

Love the colorful framing, nicely spotted that niche. 👍

AS you well know Bobek, this lake offers an unlimited range of photographic opportunities. I have 3 or 4 sunrises at the lake, each one completely different in feel and environment.
Slovenia is such a wonderfully photogenic country as you often demonstrate in your posts.

Thanks Raj. Yes, I have many different compositions of this scene in many different conditions, including fog and rain. Each wonderful if their own uniquely way.
Worth a visit if you are ever in that area. Easy to include in a trip to Northern Italy, or Croatia. You should go.
