another powerful series. I am amazed at the low light performance of the A1+600.
A little surprised that you would still take the shot (#7) when it say clearly that photography is not allowed....

Spectacular set Geoff! Wow super sweet subjects and interactions. All are a visual treat but #5 is pretty sweet with your comp, love how you kept the sky and the light kissing the cheek tie together nicely

Thanks Dave.
#1 that harrier hovered over the coot for a couple mins. The coot kicked with its feet in sort of a backflip, it lunged like in this photo but in the end the young harrier didn't even touch it from what I could tell.
With the barn owl the harrier hit its back, the owl went down to ground for a few seconds and then continued flying around hunting. I've seen a number of photos from others that show harriers attacking the owl when it come out around sunset or just before sunrise. So I think it may be par for the course for this owl when he first arrives on his hunting scene. I'd guess under darkness he is undisturbed.
These photos must make me angry in a really good way
In NY Harriers are really hard to get close to, and I have never in over 40 years of birding seen a Barn Owl flying during the day. So hats off for some fantastic images. You've got my vote!
