p.1 #1 · Utah's Reflections

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy....
I've been doing some local traveling recently and I finally made it to Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. I've got a word the place was (partially) flooded so I decided to fly over (for me that's just 1.5 hour flight) and photograph the "reflection".
Here are few of my shots (and those panos look really nice large, not sure if these small 1200px pics will justify the place/image.

Gregg, just beautiful work as usual. Just curious as to why u didn’t close out those folks in🤔. I do think that leaving those folks in the images provides the viewer with the scale and size of Salt Flats. Hope u get to travel more so that u can treat us with beautiful images. 👍🏻

That's why I left them in

Cool shots that make me wish I'd stopped when I drove by there a while back. We wanted to make it to friends in Sandy for dinner though so blasted past. Were you flying a drone?

Thx Jim. No, I don’t own a drone but I may get one. My friend that was with me there had one and did fly it all over. The images from the drone are Ok but the mirror type of shot comes out better from the ground level. But, we did use the drone to see where the hexagons are and which areas had the most water. Not the whole place was flooded and from the highway 80 you would not see any water, so you’d pass it by thinking it’s dry. Anyway, winter is a much better time to go there. I might be shooting it again in February. Just watch the webcams. It shows you if the water is there or not (at least the area near by the camera). You can also call park ranger (this is a state park) and they will tell you if the water is there or not.

Wonderful images - so intriguing as they hover in the no-man's land between a pure abstract and a landscape.

Thanks. If you go there, I suggest January or February. I will be there one of those months for sure.....

Very nice collection, Greg. I like shot #5 the most because of the depth created by the foreground island.
