Very nice mini-review Matt. Well done and congrats on the new camera.
Also turn the camera *off* when you change lenses. In theory at least, while the camera is on, the sensor is carrying a charge, causing it to attract more dust than it will if you turn if off first.

I knew I was forgetting something!! Thank you! I'll add that to my mini-review right now. Thanks!

Heh, yes they do. I was shooting a recital the other night with PF-21 set on my Mark II (click-zzip, click-zzip, click-zzip). The guy with the video cam next to me popped up after it was over and said he really liked the shutter sound I had set on my camera. I said "that's nothin', check out this one that I downloaded," and fired off an 8fps burst. He was very impressed. ;-)

to say that its an amazing fast camera is quite true if your used to a digicam but if your used to a 1 series its only going to seem slow.
Do you really think anyone using a 1-series is seriously looking at the 20D? Compared to *most* those who would look at the 20D- it is very fast....

so bottom line, read all the reviews you want, but try to find out if the reviewer has similar experience and shooting styles as you do before you put too much faith into the review
He stated quite clearly that he was coming from a P&S digicam, i think its a good review (apart from maybe the shutter sound thing anyone even considering this purchase should know how the basic machinery inside works) and he noticed a lot of the same things I noticed when upgrading to this camera from P&S recently.
Paul, why would someone with a 1 series not consider a 20D ? I own a MKII and at some point Im going to pick up a 20D as a backup body. In fact I know alot of guys with 1 series that have purchased 20D's. I suppose even crazier to you is the fact that alot of people with a 1 series actually switched to a 20D instead ?
And again, my comments were not meant to be specific simply to this review, but as a general reminder for everyone in reading ANY review on the internet that you need to remember to consider who's writing the review.
If a 6 foot 4" 220lb man who works out 3 times a week says in a review that a 6lb lens is no problem to handhold for long periods that doesnt mean a 5 foot 1" woman who weights 90lbs should assume that it will be handholdable for her.
before you take anything you read to heart, stop and try to consider a persons experience level is all im saying as it can be vastly different than where your coming from
BigBad ... absolutely right on. I'm 6,2 and large hands and have the 10D with a grip on it. Wondered why my 5,2 sweetie with delicate hands doesn't like to even pick it up .... hhhhmmmm .... (lightbulb goes off in head) you may be onto someting and I'm looking for someting to make my 10D look silly. Would love to have a MK2 though ( or the D2h ) because it really does fit my hand (better than my bank account )

As I said earlier in this topic, I have had a 1DII since April, and I picked up a 20D a few weeks ago to use as a second body and back-up. I've found that the 20D is not going to replace my 1DII, but it is, for me, an excellent complement to it. I've been quite impressed with the camera.
