p.1 #1 · Crepuscular rays in the Blue Ridge Mountains

I've been finishing up an autumn shoot in the Blue Ridge region of North Carolina and on one of my last days there I was treated to some of the most mesmerizing crepuscular rays I've witnessed. I was at 6,053 ft elevation when the sunbeam show started developing in late afternoon and kept getting better and better, and was punctuated at sunset when the rays turned pink. I stitched several frames to make the pano, and the second image was converted to black & white in Lightroom.

Those are quite nice. The layered mountains are always nice by themselves. The sun beams make them something really special. Well done.
I appreciate the good word! It's very satisfying when great conditions materialize that you weren't expecting.

Amazing captures! I love the light rays and the layers of mountains.
Thank you @akapplerphotos! I've always loved the views of the stacked ridges but the sunbeams really put the scene over the top. I worked this area for 10 days this month and was so grateful to get these conditions before I left.

Very nice set. The croton #1 is perfect. For the other 2, I think the bottom layer is very dark so it's a bit harsh compared to the rest of the frame. I'd try bringing the shadows up a bit in PP.
