What's hidden in this image taken through my back window isn't the Cooper's Hawk, it's the few sparrows that took refuge in the hosta. Moments after getting this shot off, the hawk pounced into the hosta and emerged with a bird in its talons. A successful hunting trip for it and death for a sparrow.
