I have been photographing burrowing owls for several years. I am always amazed and impressed that these birds maintain eye contact a lot while being photographed. Case in point is this juvenile burrowing owl that just took off from that branch.
Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave any comment,
Joshua
Did you purposely reduce shutter speed to create the wing blur?
Early morning or late after?
Thanks for sharing,
Bryan
Thank you very much, Bryan! That was captured in the late afternoon. Yes, it was deliberate. I programmed in the AEL button to capture at slow shutter speed but lower ISO while the regular AF back button would be at 1/4000 sec or so. I captured the landing of that guy using the regular AF back button but used the AEL button for the take off to get a little different look.

Excellent image and a very creative use of the functions available to you via your camera.
Thank you very much, Louie! I setup that feature mostly to toggle between capturing in-flight images when I need high shutter speed and perched images when I prefer lower ISO settings.

I greatly appreciate your kind words, Margaret and I am glad you like that image.
I'm assuming this was captured at the same location as usual? If so, very happy to see the location is still active. I hope to be able to join you in shooting again soon.
