I collaborated yesterday with a girl named Avienne, the lead vocalist of a heavy metal band called Vintersea. She was very emotive and confident in front of the camera, which was nice because we were both imagining very evocative portraits before the shoot and I think she really delivered.
These were lit using natural light and a silver reflector, and shot using an original Canon 5D with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro usm lens and a Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens.

Beautiful work... reminds me of the artist Nagel
Probably shouldn't say how much I loath nose rings... (oops)

Thank you Gheller.
Personally I don't have an opinion on piercings. I'm heavily tattooed myself, so I don't think it would be fair for me to pass judgement on other people's body modifications anyways.

Fully appreciate your body mods (I have a tattoo myself)... something about the nose ring, though... Just too ... um ... "bovine" for me. Just can't see the appeal to look like that particular animal.

It's not a piercing I have ever wanted to get either, but to each their own.

There’s also a cultural component. For instance, in India there’s a long tradition of women wearing nose rings, including septum and otherwise.

Very nice! Probably #3 is my fave as well. For some reason (color and contrast) my eye is drawn to her lips, which is some cases seem sharper than her eyes due to DOF!

Thank you.
Yeah the focus isn’t as good as it could have been. Not enough to ruin the shots for me though.
