Fantastic! Did you mask out the BG on #3? It's a little distracting in 1 & 4 - but at the same time it goes with the event environment... My Photoshop voice would be begging me to edit - while my organic sensibilities say no. ha ha.
Thanks Karen,
I did draw out the background in 3#. There was a radio station banner on stage that literally ruined most photos. The symmetry of #3 forced me to get rid of the distractions. Her proud profile and pose were all she had to counter the garish banner. While #2 was from a lower angle her bright face and pose helped more to cover the background. #1 and #4 were not even on stage, but between bike racks, and porta-potties. I saw them practicing, and how excited they were about their dresses. Those "organic" expressions disappeared on stage.

I understand (#3) - have you ever done a background replacement? You might like it as an alternative to pure black. Since you've already done the "cut out" work it wouldn't be too difficult. Shoot your own or find a site with image sharing (some free some w/attribution etc. - many out there) - Many simple tutorials out there if you're not experienced with doing masks...
I am familiar with replacing backgrounds, skies, and many kinds of retouching. I have used Photoshop since 1989, or for 32 years. I made the judgement that any replacement would be obvious - so I ruled out using any other background I could conjure out my own 400K of images. I was heading to a film noir version for a series on the festival. I like the bright colors too, but I guess I should have posted my finished intended image instead.
The major subjects - the brilliant colors, the dance, and the dancers - are all captured beautifully. I think the black background does wonders to display the colors in the dress.
