The osprey put on a good show and you did a great job capturing it. Excellent set of images!
And you didn't drop the lens and camera in the water even once.

That is good to read. I had thought of taking my hood to visit the table saw, but that thousand dollar replacement cost was a deterrent. My old FD 400/2.8 L had a short slide out hood just long enough to keep water drops off the front element. You could then attach a longer clamp-on hood when needed. It was a good system. The lens weighed 13 pounds, though, and maybe that fancy hood system contributed a bit to that.

Thanks. I'm always crossing my fingers that it takes off towards me which depends on how he wrangles the fish out of the water. I was certainly lucky that a few times he did fly right at me and even over me before banking towards land and heading to the nest.

Question: when you shoot from the kayak are you concerned about your gear getting damaged by water? Do you take any precautions to protect the gear?
