Nickerson Beach is an amazing place for bird photography as the number of birds found in this popular bathing and nesting area usually keeps me shooting constantly. The attractive scenery and changing ocean add to the joy of photography and now that the bathing season is over solitude is once again possible. My goal for the day was to get low and use the waves that Hurricane Larry is creating as backgrounds. The waves started out small about two to three feet yet when I was leaving at eleven AM they had turned into six to eight foot rollers. This set starts about two minutes after sunrise and ends fourth five minutes later with all but the last less than thirty minutes after sunrise.
Great images depicting the mood of the morning Morris, I sooooo miss the rushing of the oceans. Countdown to retirement by end of October, I will be on a mission to run to the coast soon!!

Beautiful shots, I especially like #3 and #5! They remind me of the 'Piper' short by Pixar.
I really like #8 as well but I think I would have preferred to brighten the background just a bit to be able to see the waves more clearly.
Thank you,
I did notice the background was a bit dark when I protected the highlights for 8. Good idea

Love light and set Morris. After Ida, I am sure it was very soothing to be out on the beach with those lovely birds.
