p.1 #1 · Windmills in the Mojave

Story behind these - I'd read about some abandoned B-52s in the desert near Edwards AFB, and seen plenty of people's photos of them under the milky way. Might be borderline on the AFB, but if people have done it, should be doable, right? NOPE. LOTS of signage indicating Air Force property/restricted access, and then once you get to the spot where you'd start walking, some friendly signs indicating "controlled area" and a barbed wire fence. (On the other side of the road, an active gunnery range. No thanks).

So we made a plan B - saw the blinking red lights of the wind farm out past Mojave and headed that way. 40 minutes later, the milky way core is about level with the horizon, but came out with some cool shots regardless.

Note: these things are HUGE. They make noises like some alien machinery in Independence Day/War of the Worlds as they move around.
