Mitesh that is one well feed healthy bear! ISO 12800 impressive...
Yes, he certainly is quite the hulky beast, Patrick! This one is not even close to some of the larger bears seen in this area. There are some that tip the scales at 700-800 pounds!
As for the high ISO performance, I sure wish DxO would hurry up and update PL5 to be compatible with OM-1 files. I used DeNoise on this, but PL5 is my preferred option in most instances. I'd say the detail retention here is just passable for web. Some of that may be on me as focus isn't as tack sharp as I would have liked on the eyes.

I'm just looking at it on a tablet and all looks just fine to me. Did not notice sharpness or any noise issues as you say. Enjoyed the image of a impressive black bear.
Just got home last night from 5 1/2 weeks in Africa pretty tired from multiple flights and days to arrive home. I did this morning update DXO-5 and looked at the camera road map for the OM-1 and still shows date 2022/06. Yea it is coming but have to hold off on images until then..
Lovely image! Great detail, great clarity, great color, just a great lens that 150-400. I hoped to get one with the OM-1, but where I live in Europe, there has been not a single supply of this lens in 6 months, and pre-orders on the Olympus website are closed, so it may take a véry long time if one wants to get one here, perhaps more in years than months.
I went for the Sony A1+200-600, but the 150-400 at 400mm (without the TC) are of a completely different level to my eyes.
At 500mm with in-built TC still ok, but not as mesmerizing as this lens at 400mm.

Thanks, and I agree that the 150-400 is a spectacular lens. It's a shame that supply is so limited in your area. For me, there are too many variables from shot-to-shot which affect real-world cross-platform comparisons. In short, my opinion is that the 150-400 delivers in spades for everything that I shoot, and I also feel the same way about the FE 200-600. Even with the extender engaged on the 150-400, I'm pleased with the results as long as all the usual factors of a good image are present. Here's a full-frame example at 1/50, f/5.6, ISO 400, 445mm, followed by an LR screenshot of the pixel-for-pixel crop:

I’m thinking about it. I leave for Alaska on Saturday, so I thought I might bring it along if I could find one quickly.
Hope you're able to find one, Bryan. I heard from the dealer I got mine from that shipments from OM have really slowed down. He said my lens was the last one they had received, and that was 3 months ago.
