After a couple of years of guiding photography tours in Colombia, this country has become one of my favorite destinations for bird photography.
My main trip is based on photographing birds in the Central Andes and western foothills, however, there are many other areas that I continue exploring for future trips.
Most of the pictures were taken with my Sony A6600 camera and the 200-600mm, this combination seems fabulous when you consider the low price of the camera, and most important the image quality is very good. The photos of Collared Inca, Lazuline Sabrewing, and Chestnut-eared Aracari were taken with my old equipment, Nikon D500 + 200-500mm.
Hope you like these pictures, regards from South América
Excellent collection of stuff. The Hooded Mountain-Tanager is probably my favorite. Lotta good places to shoot around Manizales and Pereira! Golden-tailed Sapphire is one that I haven't seen yet, so that one is pretty cool too!
Wow. Got my vote. I should add that I see these pictures as stunningly beautiful. I'm not a bird photographer so rarely post over here but I was compelled by the beauty of these photographs.

Thank you so much for your support, regards from Ecuador.

Thank you very much, there is a place in Boyacá where Golden tailed Sapphire is very common and predominant, I think it is the best place to photograph this bird. In Ecuador there is also a good place in the foothills of the eastern mountain range, near Sumaco volcano.
Regards,
Javier
