Will Voigtlander ever produce L-Mount lenses?
I have most of the current Voigtlander VM lenses. I would love to see a version in native L-Mount (my lenses are 6 Bit coded and I use Leica M-L Adapters), but I would love correct EFIX data and lens correction profiles like the FE versions.

Do you think they will do it?
Would you buy?

I'd love to see it, but it is a limited market, so I'd think they'd focus on Canon RF & Nikon Z first. And if they did, I'm not sure I would personally buy, as it would be redundant to my Leica M kit. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome if they did! 📸

I have come close, and may still buy a Sony body so I can use the Voigtlander 65/2 and 110/2.5 Macro APO Lanthar lenses, which are only available in that mount, and have come very close to buying the 40/1.2 Nocton in M mount to use on my S1r.
One issue I see is that recent Voigtlander releases (the 35 and 50/2.0 APO Lanthars) have different formulae for the thinner M-Leica sensor stacks and the thicker stacks on the Sony sensors. The L-mount bodies reportedly have sensor stacks in between, with the Leica-L and Panasonic-L sensors having different thickness stacks. I have yet to see full resolution shots on either of these L-mount bodies from the M-mount versions of these lenses (I have not spent time looking), but if L-mount versions of all were released, and they are formulated to work well on the L-bodies, I would be very interested.

Now that I've thought about it some more, if they made the excellent 40/1.2 Nokton in L-Mount, I'd definitely buy it as a one fast prime for when I can't bring the M kit.

I have the Voigtlander 40mm f1.4 M mount and use it on my Panasonic S5 with great results The image quality is excellent and I am not seeing the kinds of issues the thicker stack (like Sony) give with M mount lenses. The only negative I have to report is that for some reason the focus peaking is nearly invisible with the combo. I have also used Takumar, Helios, Olympus, and Konica lenses on the S5 and all had more visible focus peaking than the Voigtlander. I will also add I'm not crazy about having a focusing tab and would prefer a knurled barrel, but that's personal preference and not the lenses fault.

Given the M>L mount as a dedicated part of the Leica L mount ethos ... I wouldn't hold my breath, since there is already a viable solution for putting M glass on L bodies.
Granted, it might afford a different optical design opportunity ... but, unless there is a compellingly different lens, (e.g. maybe that 65/2, etc.) that doesn't exist in M mount, I don't see Voigt racing to do so.

These days Cosina seem to be more willing to do lenses for new mounts if they can support electronic communication (as in E-mount and X-mount) and they are probably not reverse engineering mount protocols for new mounts... Otherwise they would have probably started doing some lenses in Canon RF and Nikon Z mounts already.
I understand L-mount is not an open mount and Leica is probably not so willing to share the specifications and to invite new lens makers into the system especially if those makers have a lot of history of competing with Leica's own offerings.
I would personally be happy to buy some native L-mount glass from Cosina Voigtländer line since I have a Sigma fp but I'm not expecting that to happen. I'm anyhow enjoying using some of my Voigtländer VM and LTM glass on the fp with an adapter.

I have zero intent to get into a L-mount based camera. I prefer the smaller and more compact M camera size with FF sensor. No need for AF either. I don't think Cosina will go into L-mount lenses - most of their lenses seem manual focus based (even they might produce AF lenses for other brands). Regarding L-lenses, they are made by Leica, Sigma, and Panasonic. I honestly don't follow the L-mount lens market due to my lack of interest in this mount.
