These are just amazing shots. Might be one of the best osprey fishing sequences I have seen on this board. Nice to see some action!

Truly exceptional sequence. Really shows your skill! I'm fascinated by the shot just before entering the water with the nictitating membrane activated to protect the eyeball. I also love the last, head shaking, image. Curious what your set up was.
Thank you so much & appreciate your kind words !
Please refer to my set up below :
- Gear : Sony Alpha 1 camera & 600mm F4 GM lens
- Camera setting : 1/3200, F4, AF-C, Tracking sensitivity 4 , Center Fix tracking, Face/Eye in AF : ON & Bird.
Let me know if you'd like to know anything else.

Very nice sequence. At the moment of impact with the water I wonder if it is usual to see the osprey's nictitating membrane (eyelid) close.
Thank you so much !
Based on my observation that usually osprey's nictitating membrane close when the birds submerge themselve underwater to catch fish. As they just swoop down close to the water and drop their feet in the water surface to catch the fish (similar to what bald eagles do) they don't nictate membrane close.

Thanks (and thanks for the settings info). That's my rig as well (as of a few weeks ago) and in looking at the shots I thought, "I'll bet that's an A1 and 600 f/4" so I was both curious if it was true and if not I for sure wanted to know what else was helping you produce those images!

No problem. Anytime !
In the past, I successfully captured osprey diving actions with Canon & Nikon bodies. And, A1 just makes it easier and a lot better, 30 frame/sec is awesome !.
Thanks.
Great action shooting Kevin. Since you are asking exposing for the white heads and then bring up the rest of the image will allow you to get more detail in the whites. Your post catch images are better exposed and super
