Eggshell removal behavior of Black-necked Stilt, She removed eggshells from the nest soon after hatching and carry the shells to nearby water and submerge them. Don't know it properly an antipredator behavior.
They have 4 eggs and this is my very first time ever to get 2 out of 4 times of this interesting behavior.

Beautiful series. Killdeer also remove eggshells from their nests as soon as the young hatch.
