A moth of the family Sphingidae. Some call them clearwing moths, or hummingbird moths, but I believe the proper name is Hummingbird Clearwing. Of course I could be wrong.
I don't know what the little one is. And I believe the last is a Silver-spotted Skipper ?
All hanging about one of our potted plants this afternoon. Thanks for looking !
Gary
Excellent set of images!
The Hummingbird Moth photos are superb!!
The Fieldstone Guide calls them Hummingbird Moths. WikiPedia calls them Hummingbird Clearwings. I suppose the safest is to call them Hemaris thysbe, as you did in the title. That is also click bait since everyone has to click to find out what it is.

Terrific shots of fascinating moths! That first one is amazing, I've never seen any moth looking like some kind of escaped crustacean before!
Right ? Should also be called "lobster moth"

Thanks Dave. Not my intention to click bait but I'm certainly not the first

That’s the prettiest moth I have ever seen! Great find, Gary!
Thanks bobby ! I was actually on my way to mowing the lawn and I spotted him on the plant. Grabbed my camera and then some other stuff showed up. Still haven't mowed the lawn

These are outstanding! I never knew a moth could be so beautiful. Thanks for showing me something new and beautiful.

So glad you enjoyed it. What I think really adds to their beauty is the transparent wings. Takes on the colors of their surroundings. Appreciate the input !
