The declared value seems to give them more motivaton to find something that has gone lost.
I did have UPS pay on a damaged shipment. The box was punctured by a steel rod that broke off and remained inside. They sent an adjuster to inspect the package and contents. They seemed shocked and payment was fast.

I will keep any eye on for your for sale items. If I was shipping to myself, my camera insurance already covers it. Issue is when shipping things for sale, atleast for me.
