Just a heads-up for Canadians ordering from B&H - if any of your items are back-orderd, the shipping method defaults to FedEx Ground shipping - with all of the extra brokerge fees and other customs clearance charges that servicec entails.
I noticed this issue on two of my recent orders - after getting a late-night robocalls-call from FedEx informing me that I owed them money. I had selected the "Fast and Easy Prepay Canada Shipping" option when I checked out, but for some reason B&H changed that shipping choice to the FedEx Ground instead; when I contacted customer service at B&H, they claimed I had chosen this option at the time of order - which I most certainly did not do. I then checked another item I had ordered earlier that was also on back-order, and discovered it had also been changed to FedEx Ground shipping, so I immediately cancelled that order. Whether this is a techinical glitch in their storefront software, or they just shoose this as their lowest-cost shipping option (which is what the customer service rep implied), it's not for customers ordering from Canada.
Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to be stuck with paying the extra fees on the order that was already shipped; B&H told me that if I refuse delivery, FedEx will likely dispose of the package as unclaimed goods. Ironically, the item I ordered (a Shimoda backpack) wasn't actually even out of stock - showing it as back-ordered was another error in their system.

Well, that's the way it's supposed to work, and it does most of the time. But then this isn't really about Duties and Taxes, so don't try to steer the conversation away from the real topic.
I don't know why your customer service representatives have to make up stories to cover up the fact that you shipped a portion of my order by FedEx Ground, while you shipped the other part of the same order by the method I actually requested. I'm just thankful I caught this same error on my other backorder, and was able to cancel it.
When a customer discovers an error in your system and points it out to you, you should be thankful for the opportunity to fix it before it affects other customers...
