This was the last photo I took at the Portland Head Lighthouse. When the gate to the park says "closed at sunset," they really mean *at sunset.* Oftentimes, these places don't close down until it's dark out, but when the clock hit the time sunset occurred, a ranger was all over the visitors to get out of the park. Can't say I blame him, as I'm sure he goes through the same routine every single night and it must get old. Unfortunately, the light was just hitting the clouds and getting better and better as time passed. One photographer just blatantly ignored the ranger and continued shooting; I hope he received a fine or a ticket! It's one thing to get the shot, but another thing entirely to be so disrespectful and rude to another human being. Ugh.

Beautiful sunset scenic view in great color rendition and composition
Thank you for the praise. I was fortunate to get some strong, colorful light, as I was only there for one evening!

Beautiful sunset and nice water color...
I was there at the beginning of May. Definitely worth visit.
Much appreciated. Do you live in the northeast? My visit was in mid-June - it seemed like every morning and every night around that time were popping with epic light!
Stunning shot, beautiful color and an excellent composition. Just one thing--the nitpicker in me would really like to see that lighthouse straightened with a perspective control adjustment.
Cheers,
Brent
