Thanks Joshua! Yes, Terpsicorps Ballet in Asheville is a professional ballet, and they draw professional dancers from all over the country for the June performance. Normally the performance is in a downtown stage theater, but because of lingering Covid concerns, this one was held outdoors on a raised stage. Every year I shoot the dress rehearsal as a favor for the artistic director.
Great set. Too bad about the venue; not about outdoors, but all the utility lines. The TP was a humorous surprise, as was the duct-taped couch. #9 showed the couch was needed. The height of their leaps!
I agree that the background was *horrid*. I realize nothing you could do, but so distracting - couldn't eve get into the mood of the otherwise fine shots.

the venue was horrible. It was surrounded by commercial utility trucks, people walking around, etc. I did fast and dirty cloning out of much of that, but didn't have the time/energy to deal with all the power lines (which of course can be removed effectively if you're willing to take the time). That sofa was intentionally beat up for the piece called Couch Potatoes. The group has done it a few times over the years to great acclaim, and the beat up sofa actually suits the piece.
