p.3 #6 · Leica 50/1.4 Lux vs Voigtlander 50/1.2 Nokton vs 50/2 APO
This is my favourite out of Fred's tests, probably because I have all three lenses and it's fascinating to see them rigorously compared. I can't see myself parting with any of them but if I had to choose just one it would be—without hesitation—the Black Chrome Lux.

I am posting crops for the Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 Nokton mostly @f/1.4 because there is very little difference in rendering between f/1.2 and f/1.4. In some scenes it's indistinguishable. Also I want to compare apples to apples to the Lux.
Here are some crops at 50% mag:
LEFT (f/1.2), Right (f/1.4)
PS: Also noticed from the samples above the longer FL for the Lux and the better veiling flare for both Voigtlander lenses compared to the Lux.

The Summilux seems to be a bit warmer than the Voigtlander. Is that all, or does it also produce better colours / colour saturation / contrast?
I don't see much difference in color temperature or saturation. In some images color tones seem deeper from the extra contrast at close distance. They are very similar in character imo.
I see more veiling flair and lower axial CA for the Leica. The CV 50/1.2 has slightly smoother rendering at f/1.2. The most obvious difference when comparing them side by side is the AOV.

I wonder how the TTartisans 50 1.4 would do against these 3. The greens look so nice on the APO tho.
I have the TTA 50/0.95. Could do a quick test. For sure is capable of much more blur compared to the CV 50/1.2 wide open but I'm pretty sure the Voigt is sharper at any distance.

I've been saving for a 50 lux but now considering the VM 50/1.2 or tta 50/0.95 AND a VM 75mm 1.5. Already have the VM35 APO. Voigtlander are doing a fine job

To my eyes the VM APO looks worse than the Lux at f/2.8, which I thought it shouldn't be...? And the extreme corners, while at wider apertures the APO is better, at f/4 and more stopped down, I prefer the Lux.
I thought there would have been more noticeable differences, in respect to sharpness. If it's really this close, I'll stick with the Lux since I already have it and love its rendering. Yeah, it's now an older design with some weaknesses showing, but it's possible to work around those most of the time.
p.3 #18 · Leica 50/1.4 Lux vs Voigtlander 50/1.2 Nokton vs 50/2 APO
This difference could be due to lens calibration. None of my Voigtlander lenses are perfect calibrated at the hard stop and they focuses slightly closer.
At 40MP any small difference in focus is noticeable and we are looking at 100% crops (pixel level).
So there is not much I can do to get critical focus on the subject at infinity since I can focus pass infinity.. The Leica 50 Lux, being perfectly calibrated has the advantage but it does not necessarily mean it’s sharper than the APO.
Having said that, at center, the Leica 50/1.4 Lux is capable of very high resolution. One of the sharpest 50mm lenses on the market despite its age. The Voigtlander 50/2 APO is also very good but its strength is consistency across the field and very low color aberration.
