This is the third year this couple has nested at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. The first year the young male never quire figured out mating. Last year they had 3 eggs in the nest when it was attacked by another mail who destroyed the eggs trying to scare off the young male to have his mate. This year they had 3 eggs and two are now healthy osprey chicks.
Great set and great photos! I hope that when the male looked to you for approval, you gave him enthusiastic applause! He's come a long way from when he was a klutz!
