indeed, I can't explain why, I still LOVE it even we live in a world with FF with 61mpx and MF of 150mpx...
Thanks!
I have M9, M10R and A7R IV but keep reaching for the former! There is something about its files and camera simplicity that speaks to me. All capable of great images.

Yesterday I had some time to test one of my new lenses on this weird summertime, so cloudy and hot.
Ideally a sandbox for our new Ektar!
The pictures were all shot by M9 and Tele Elmarit 90 and Zeiss zm25 but the exif are all setted on zm25 (cron28).
Love these! Reminds me of something Slim Aarons would have shot.
I recently bought the base pack for my A9, and shortly afterwards the base pack for the A7riii as well as the Kodachrome emulation pack.
I'm trying to figure out whether I'm using them appropriately. I can select either Cobalt Flat / Standard / Repro or the Kodachrome emulations from the profile browser, but I have no idea whether LR Classic knows to apply the Standard etc profile for the A9 and respectively A7riii (since they don't seem to show up with different names) and whether it knows how to combine the base profile for the respective camera with the Kodak emulation when I choose that.

When you see the Kodachrome or the standards in the list of available profiles, using it for your camera raws, means the engine is working well and you should be happy and enjoy the profiles.
The structure it-s easy, when the correct dcp is installed and a raw supported is opened, you can see that added profile in the list, and if you add any of the emulations in the system, that will appear in the list attached to the specified basic dcp.
the problem starts when the profile is not available in the list.

Do i have to convert every ARW file to DNG format to use cobalt profile?
Do you have samples showing Adobe Standard vs Cobalt Standard colors?
No, you just have to buy the basic profiles for your specific camera model; I would be happy to help with samples but I can't, you can find tons of samples on this topic and in the website.
We are working on a "sampler page" on our website to test two or three ideal images with every profile and emulation released.
and it's also the mandatory starting point for any of our emulations.
Hey man - if I wanted to get say Fuji emulations and/or Canon R5 for my Sony A1 which exact ones do I need to purchase. Just 'Fuji Digital Emulation' for 49 and that does it all etc?

Fuji, what Fuji, Digital or Film?
You need the basic pack for A1 in order to enable your camera support on Cobalt and the Fuji pack you want.

One more question - if I was using the R5 profile on my a1 would you expect the files to look almost exactly the same as using my actual r5 for the same scene? thanks!
As promised, we did expand the support for our products.
In few words, we released the Fuji FILM pack v1.1 now with the Linear/Flat/Standard curved for each profile.
That means more freedom on editing with extreme emulations like Velvia or stronger black for softer emulations like Superia if wanted!
now you have more choices
Linear (linear information from the sensor with film emulation applied)
Flat (base exposure curve, no contrast added)
Standard (full exposure curve and contrast added)

No, you have to purchase the basic to enable cobalt on the raw of your camera.
After that you should check what emulation you want to add.
If you want the R5, you should buy the canon Contemporary wich includes the r5 emulation.
Different is if you want the SAME calibrated color signature having A1 and R5 files.... then you just have to purchase the basic pack for R5 and for A1... and use the same Cobalt standard profile to get the same calibrated color signature
They look great, thanks for the info. I'll be selling the r5 but still find the color in certain situations better than the A1 so was just checking if it would basically give me a very similar output as if i'd been using a Canon camera. And I also love the look of Fuji Portra/Chrome so i'll probably get that too for personal work. Thanks! If I bought basic (a1) / fuji / canon and then buy an a9ii later - would I then just need to buy the basic profile for the a9ii but the fuji and canon packs would work without having to be repurchased again for each camera. If that makes sense! thanks

perfect!
My personal suggestion is to test the cobalt standard/neutral before going further, the calibrated colors sometimes are just what someone needs.
After that, yes, you'll have the freedom to choose the right color fingerprint checking our many solutions of emulation.
In the next weeks, we are working to offer a sampler tool to be able to test on a landscape or a portrait EVERY emulation we are offering.

Will you be releasing an updated version of the Kodachrome emulations with Linear/Flat/Standard curves for each profile?
