I'm planning on picking up the CCD Fever and maybe the Fuji digital pack with portrait photos (skin tones) in mind. Has anyone decided on a favorite profile (or profile pack) for landscapes?
It’s probably worth publicizing the Fuji Nostalgia Neg more as I read a lot of Fuji shooters wanting that simulation for Fuji cameras that do not support it in camera, they’d be very interest in that profile i imagine
If I'm not wrong, DXO Filmpack are presets, not color profiles, so they affect also the various sliders on the right hand side of the interface, while color profiles don't. Cobalt emulations are also matching some specific camera profiles rather than type of films only, apart from providing a different "starting base" to post process with their base pack.
I don't think DXO Filmpack works as a plug-in with C1 or other free RAW processors like Rawtheraphee either (at least it's not written on their website).
If I already shoot Fuji, how do these compare to Fuji's profiles and the ones in C1? I see mostly examples from folks using Adobe, which I don't use as I think C1 works better for me. I can see the need for my Sony camera. Is there a demo available?

I do not suggest for a Fuji user to upgrade for better emulation of Provia, Velvia, etc; the main would be to have a "huge" improvement of standard, neutral and repro Cobalt profiles cause the profiles made by C1 for every other camera than Phase One are very disappointing for color reproduction, separation and deep.
Even the "pro" profiles released in the latest version of C1 are far away from our delta E.

@Ulysseita@, do you have more examples (on Sony files) of your latest CCD fever pack? I'm mostly interested in the M9 DNG and S5 Pro profiles. Thanks!
Here is a comparison showing the Adobe Color vs Leica M9 (DNG) with some blues and greens:
Can I ask what's the story of your Kodachrome profile? Just interested as the development of the film has been stopped so long time ago (2009 for the 135 format) that properly archived Kodachrome films are probably non-existant in this decade, and the last proper Kodachrome lab (Dwayne’s Photo in Kansas) was shutdown at 2010. So, I guess there's a some kind of story behind the Kodachrome profile.
More than one year, to improve our approach and to mix spectral analysis from official data and thousands of samples everywhere; seriously, thousands.
We don't believe the analogic emulation can be limited by :
Shot on the right target
Development
Digital acquisition
In order to create a profile to emulate a film, there are so many variables between the different process so you have to figure out how to process the available data in a efficient way.
This in general way, more specifically we wrote in the website about the 4x5 and Haas was the last part, his work was the main inspiration.
