p.1 #1 · The Most Handsome Ruby Throated Hummingbird
The number of hummingbirds so far this year is so very low it is worrisome.
I do have one very handsome male who has hung around and graces my garden from time to time . I must say he is one of the prettiest males I have seen .
Since there are no other hummers around, he is very stealth , no calls, no noise, nothing. If you don't happen to be looking where he may feed , well you are out of luck. He does not linger , hits and is gone in a couple of seconds.
As always, your nits and comments are most appreciated.
Thank you for looking and I hope you find something to enjoy.
All shots are of the same bird . All different lighting, conditions and time of day.

Beautiful shots. Hummingbirds & flowers are such a great combination. We are seeing one or two but usually don’t get many until August. I am hoping to start getting some pics soon.

Another beautiful set of images!
Your hummer photographs are always beautiful. Rich colors, natural settings and soft light, sometimes a bit darker than usual. A beautiful photographic style.
And interesting. I believe it's true that you don't use feeders to attract and concentrate hummers, other than the plants you select for your yard. I always admire your ability to anticipate the bird and get into position to get the shot.

Thank you Gordon. I always wonder how a shot that part of the bird is obstructed will be received.

Glad you like it. Just a lucky time that he landed fairly close to where I was sitting.

Thanks so much Phil. The numbers here are so low. I hope you get plenty of visitors.
